On December 31, 2025, the Prince George’s County Democratic Central Committee voted 22 to 2 among the members present — a supermajority of county party leadership — to advance Delegate Odom’s nomination before his appointment.

Jan. 12, 2026 — appointment. Governor Wes Moore reviewed a field of candidates and appointed Delegate Odom to the Maryland House of Delegates for District 27A.
May 7, 2026 — campaign endorsement. The governor endorsed Delegate Odom statewide as part of the team to “finish the job” on violence reduction, affordability, and strong schools.
